This is a homepage of two Sheltieboy, Simba and Kovu. At the time, this page is mostly in finnish, but here's a short introduction of who we are and what we do. You may also check out our gallery, where you can find lots of photos taken during all these years.
- - - - - - - - - We live in southeastern Finland in a town called Kouvola. Simba lives most of the time with my parents in my home village near by Kouvola. Columbo "Simba" Simba is my first dog. We competed in agility until autumn 2006. During these years we made our way to the second class. Simba hasn't ever been a top agility dog, but he has taught me a lot about this whole world of dogs. There's so many unforgettable things that we have experienced together. Simba has also done a little bit match shows and junior handler competitions. He hasn't been shown in the official rings because of cryptochid (and later neutering). Nowadays Simba is spending his easy life with my parents in the countryside keeping guard on our yard and helping my mum in the garden ;) Every now and then Simba get's to taste the life of a city dog with me and Kovu.
- - - - - - - - - Akiliinan Wannabe Furious "Kovu" Kovu came at Christmas 2005, after a year long waiting. I wasn't going to take another dog for a while, but I realised that someday I would need another dog to continue agility and other dog hobbies. Since pup Kovu has been everything I've always wanted for my "sports dog". He's very promising in agility. We started competing in June 2007. We haven't yet done any clean run in officials, but it's only a matter of time... ;) Sometimes Kovu is also shown in the rings. In junior class succes wasn't always that great, though he got few excellents.. After a year long break, we're now returning to shows with new enthusiasm and hopefully with a little better results ;)
- - - - - - - - - And the one behind all this... I'm Noora Suurnäkki, 21-years-old student. I study at the Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences, where my degree programme is media communication (and more precisely web media). It seem's that dogs are nowadays more than hobby for me, a lifestyle you could say. I'm taking quite actively part on our local kennel club's action, training the others and organizing competitions etc. When I still could for my age, I also competed in junior handling and was taking part of all kinds of youth activities. Sheltie has been a great choice of breed for a beginner, but there's still one other breed which I have dreamed for many years. We'll see, if my next dog is already a Kromfohrländer or will I still be stuck with the Shelties ;) In any case, one thing is sure, I will never again live without at least one dog by my side :)
